sugar pie, honey bunch
I say: Skip the sugar pie, and go straight for the honey bunch — especially when it comes to tea. And much to my tea-drinking delight, there’s no shortage of interesting honey options to offer guests at tea parties. Behold:
- Lupicia has super-delicate flavored honeys to go with specific teas. I’m all over their peach-flavored momo oolong honey of late. They also have honeys infused with Earl Grey tea or rose hips.
- In the less-messy category, we have Honey Ridge Farms Honey Crèmes. It’s a stiffer honey mixed with fruit purees and other ingredients that you can spoon without it running all over the place. You can put the likes of blackberry or cinnamon spice honey crème in your tea and on your scone, for that matter.
- There’s honey in portable giant lozenge form from Honibe — not at all medicinal, yet totally portable and awesome.
- Honey “spoons” are also cute options, with wooden sticks and hard candy honey forming the spoon. (Or, just eat like a lollipop!)
- Here’s honey in its traditional form (runny!) but served in little straws that you can pop open and squeeze into your tea.
- For a stiffer proposition, try Barenjager Honey Liqeuer, which makes an outstanding hot toddy to boot.
