FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HALLOWEEN “DEATH OF WALL STREET” FUNERAL PROCESSION !

(Ferry Building, San Francisco , CA) – Tired of the slow, sickening decline of the Dow Jones? Wondering when Wall Street will just die and leave us be?

Us too! Come celebrate the season of horror and join the “Death of Wall Street” Funeral Procession in San Francisco, this Halloween!

On Friday, 10/31/08, a group of creative San Franciscans, disgusted with Wall Street greed will celebrate the “Death of Wall Street” with a funeral procession from the SF Ferry Building (Market @ Embarcadero) to Castro Muni (Market @ Castro). The mouners/celebrators will meet in front of the SF Ferry Building at 6PM, build a giant coffin from 6-7PM, walk from the SF Ferry Building to Castro Muni from 7-8PM, bury Wall Street at Castro Muni at 8PM, and celebrate the rebirth of Castro Halloween at 8:15PM. The event is free. Business suits and baby strollers are welcome for the walk!

The “Death of Wall Street Funeral Procession” is the brainchild of Mark Tyne, the self-described “King of Bad Entertainment”. Mark Tyne Co-Produced the “Death of Castro Halloween Funeral Procession” in 2007. Tyne is also the Producer of the “30 Second Good Bad Movie Review” on SF Ch76, 1st & 3rd Tuesdays at 7:30PM, and the Miss American Fido Show on SF Ch29, 1st Mondays at 8PM. Tyne has experience with comedy spoofs; he’s the videographer and former musical director of the blood splatter theater group Primitive Screwheads.

“The great thing about the Death of Wall Street Funeral Procession is that it celebrates both death (Wall Street) and rebirth (Castro Halloween),” he says. “We encourage cats in business suits to come out to mourn the death of Wall Street and parents with strollers to come out for the walk to celebrate the rebirth of Castro Halloween. Who knows what we’ll bury next Halloween. But the coffin gets bigger and longer each year!”

Tyne will be hosting coffin building parties each Friday before Halloween from 6-7 PM on the Panhandle (Fell @ Ashbury) and encourages builders to bring black paint, duct tape and lemonade.

“The whole point is to exorcise a bad financial patch with a symbolic burial and a great walk,” he says. “Street theater has a long and noble tradition in SF. We truly stand on the shoulders of giants.”
