Before I started working at Evite, I thought I was the only one who agonized over picking the perfect invitation design for my parties. But I guess I'm not alone. I always hear stories about people logging serious time in our various galleries. We have more than 700 designs to choose from, so you have tons of options. But on the other hand, you have TONS of options.

In order to help you with your endeavor of selecting an invitation, we thought you might like to know which designs get the most love. When in doubt, go with what's popular!

Let's start with You're Invited Dots (featured above). Its numbers blow away every invitation just about every week, and here's why we think it could work for you: Generic primary colors say that this invitation is perfect for either a man or a woman. Universal text could apply to everything from a birthday party to a bris (why not?) Plus, it has polka dots. Apparently I'm not the only sucker for polka dots.

Night Out:

Long live chocolate brown. It's a great color and looks fab paired up with pink. This one has a simple, retro design that is ambiguous enough for meeting your crew out for dinner and a rom-com or tearing up the town at an over-the-top bachelorette party. One thing is for sure — no boys allowed!

Cupcake Birthday:

People love them some cupcakes. And seriously, how delicious do those cupcakes look? That yellow one in the center makes me want to press my face against the monitor. Whatever party that is, I want to be there. My stomach commands it.

You are Invited:

Aaah, an Evite classic. This one's been pulling in numbers for years now. Like its polka-dotty counterpart, it really covers any event. And there's that chocolate brown again. People love it! Added bonus: The circles in the background are hypnotic — sure to get your guests to reply to your Evite invitation.

Let's Get Lit:

Cocktails! On fire! No mistaking what's going on at your party.

Balloons in the Sky:

Balloons are the party icon. This invitation says that your party is going to be good, clean fun. Perfect for a kids' birthday or family-friendly bash.

Bounce Castle:

You're the coolest person ever because you're having a bouncy castle at your party! Or else you're luring your guests over under false pretenses, which is cool with us. Just be prepared for some long faces. I always wanted a bouncy castle at my parties, but I don't think they were accessible when I was a little tyke in Kansas. And now I exceed the weight limit. Bust! (Literally.)

I do spend time agonizing over which cute evite to use! There are so many great ones to choose from. One thing that might help cut down on the time, though, is if there were links to the page numbers for the searches. Sometimes I see something I like on page 2 of the results but I want to keep looking just in case I see something better, and it's a pain to keep hitting "previous" once I've gotten to page 6 and want to get back to the original one I liked.

Yay for top 10 lists! Numbers are so interesting.

You should let people design their own templates and add them to the list, like some do with MySpace templates.
