silent night (finally!)

i still want a hula hoop

Now that Christmas has come and gone and finally it's acceptable to show a little "bah humbug" attitude, let's talk about what we won't be missing. At Evite, we're pretty much over Christmas music. There are more than a few songs that we're glad to be rid of until next year, and we want to know what you think. Here are the Christmas songs that have us at the end of our tinsel-threaded rope (we couldn't resist picking 12 of them).

Found the answer! Around two weeks ago I turned off the radio, didn't watch the usual Christmas specials and didn't let anything on the IPod. On the 23rd I let the music back on and it was actually enjoyable. For three days.
Thank God they don't pump music into where I work and I skipped the malls this year. It's not the music, its the OVERLOAD.
I hope I remember this next year :)

I am appalled at the way they MURDER the ways that the Christmas carols and songs (& our Patriotics, too) were composed to be! "Silent Night" with bongos and snare drums/rocky guitars, etc, just does NOT fit the title & words!"Joy to the World/ Come All Ye Faithful/Hark,the Herald.../ etc, should be sung "straight", at a good tempo, w/"gusto", not with all the added pitches, slower speeds,& sliding around the notes,(which make the renditions UNstable, not stable & happy)! In fact,I heard overload of the secular songs this year, and hardly any of the traditional songs of the meaning of Christmas. It is disgusting that a FEW people "get offended" & get coddled at the expense of the majority, which happens with MANY things, these days.Substituting "holiday"
for "Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Ramadan",-which are NOT bad words - has gone way too far (yet, so many people blaspheme everywhere, which is against all religions,
& "nobody says anything"!"Something's wrong with this picture!")As a Christian,I
have NO problem when people say to me,
"Happy Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Ramadan,etc.
I hope it's the same's for you.
Happy New Year,everyone!

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on this one, Ebenezer.

I actually love Christmas music and am disappointed that I only get away with listening to it one month out of the year. I love it all.

(Although I do agree about the current #1 on the poll Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer. If I never heard that again, I would be a happy man.)

I actually went to an ambient carolling event that felt much more magical than your typical run-of-the-mill Christmas songs:::
