Make Up For Ever Lashes

I’m generally one of those people who avoid Halloween costumes. I love the parties, but crack under the pressure of coming up with a super-creative costume. But leave it to a beauty trend to get me in the spirit of the season.

Make Up For Ever has an entire faux lash wardrobe at Sephora, and really, Halloween is the perfect excuse to rock some dramatic lashes. Crystal studded to accent a flapper or red-feather-flanked for a devil, these are lashes you’ll want to build an entire costume around. And for guys who deign to venture into makeup, there are subtler strips that can work for adding drama to your vampire costume or even punching up your pirate ensemble. (Seriously, do you know how much eye makeup Johnny Depp was wearing in Pirates?)

These are luscious. I need to invent a medical reason that would require me to wear these every day.

These looks so cool! My question is...how hard is it to apply them and then to take them off? I'm a newbie to the world of fake eyelashes.

Applying faux lashes definitely takes some practice and a steady hand. But these lashes come with adhesive, so you'll have everything you need to get started. The kit also has detailed instructions about the best techniques for putting lashes on.

Rules of thumb: use as little adhesive as possible, start in the middle and work your way out to the corners, and put the strip literally ON your lash line, not your eyelid.

If you're nervous about doing an entire strip, you can always cut it into two or three sections and apply them one at a time. Smaller sections can be much easier to maneuver.

Taking them off is super-simple: just warm water to loosen the adhesive and they come right off.

Have fun!

those r hot lashes! i def want to get those 4 my halloween costume, totally!!! :)

I heard somewhere that custom-made fancy lashes are super hot right now amongst Japanese schoolgirls-- which means that the trend will be mall-mainstream in a year and a half.

I've had occasion to wear my costume, fake lashes and all, twice already and holy cow, they're hard to get used to. HUGE ones especially- you blink and it takes your lashes an extra 5 seconds to leave your line of vision. And glitter on lashes=glitter in and around the eyes. I didn't mind around but a couple conversations were ruined by me having to carefully fish out glitter and the after effect of red eye at a non drinking party was BAAAAAD.

so cool!!! I want to add some to my costume. anyone know what style would go with tinkerbell?? haha

Smilee: these lashes will be perfect for your Tinkerbell costume.

Tinkerbell always has lashes that wing out at the edge. If you just want a little something, buy the individual sections (25107 at Sephora) and place a few at your outer corners. For extra drama, go with 25151 that is thick, lush and has a gorgeous flair at the outer corner. Or if you really want get-noticed lashes, go for the 25114 with the tiny feather tips.

Whatever you choose, bat them as often as possible to capture that Tinkerbell sass.

Awwwwwwwsome I love it

cheers,
Annabella

PS...In Texas HEB Grocery store has tons of great coloured lashes for 4 dollars. www.heb.com
